Trusting God’s Goodness When We’re Weary

1-minute devotion for Friday, 8/1/25

“How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
    and day after day have sorrow in my heart?
…. Look on me and answer, Lord my God.
    Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,
…. But I trust in your unfailing love;
    my heart rejoices in your salvation.
 I will sing the Lord’s praise,
    for he has been good to me.
” From Psalm 13 (vs. 2,3,5,6) (emphasis mine)

Comments: Saul, in his jealousy, wanted David dead. David wondered why God didn’t do something. He was tired of running for his life. But then he remembered all the times God had rescued him and been good to him. When we reach our breaking point, let us pause and remember all the ways God has been good to us and sing His praise. God is always with us.

In His Love, Cindy

  1. The waiting often gets long … or our patience become short. Either way, we can always trust in God’s unfailing love.
