As I was driving along in my car, listening to my favorite Christian radio station, the host asked this question: “Do you think AI Jesus is a good thing?” For the most part, people calling in thought it was. Wait! What?! I was shocked at the responses!
Have you ever googled AI Jesus? If you have any discernment at all, you will be alarmed. To think that Christians would ask this fake Jesus spiritual questions is outrageous.
I hesitate to write on this subject for fear that it might encourage someone to seek it out for answers. Please, beware! This is certainly a “false Jesus”, a “different Jesus”. It is an insult to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And it is an insult to the Word of God, which God has given us.
To ask this AI Jesus for wisdom or advice is nothing short of idol worship, substituting a man-made creation for God’s Holy Word.
You should always look to the source when deciding if something is Biblical. AI Jesus is “made possible by contributions from The Singularity Group,” which is not a Christian organization. That is a big red flag!
As Christians increasingly look to questionable sources for Biblical understanding, I am reminded of the Apostle Paul’s words,
“I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.” 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 NIV
I would say AI Jesus fits that description perfectly. Paul goes on to say,
“Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.” (vs. 14)
The fact is, we in the church, put up with a lot of things we shouldn’t put up with!
“Because AI never needs a break, it can run through hundreds, thousands, or even millions of tasks extremely quickly, learning a great deal in very little time, and becoming extremely capable at whatever it’s being trained to accomplish.“
CSU Global
The question is: What is it being trained to accomplish? We don’t know and that is the problem. AI Jesus is promoted as “a website dedicated to meaningful conversations with Jesus Christ.” Excuse me! You are NOT having a conversation with Jesus Christ! You are having a conversation with a man-made image disguised as Jesus. That right there should scare the pants off of anyone!
“…the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark,” which is the name of the beast or the number of its name…” Revelation 13:15-17
Perhaps you’re thinking, “Why do you always have to be so negative?” My answer to that is, “I’m not being negative. I read my Bible!” In His great mercy, the Lord warns us,
“Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.”
Read and study the book of Revelation and see what’s coming. Don’t be ignorant of Biblical prophecy. It’s relevant to our day. Jesus says,
“Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.” Revelation 1:3
In His Love, Cindy

This is absolutely demonic. AI in general is scary but this AI Jesus is a perfect example of Satan masquerading as an angel of light.

Thank you for sharing this very necessary post Cindy, may it be shared and read widely by all who need to see it. I briefly looked at the AI Jesus a few weeks ago and it left me very disturbed and pondering how anyone could be misled by such wicked nonsense. May our Father God open the eyes (and hearts) of those seeking the real Jesus, that they may find Him in the Word of God.
God bless you today sister 🙏

Wow! I wasn’t aware but I will check it out. Critical analysis is definitely required as is Biblical discernment. AI is “trained” via databases of information. The information sources determine the output. I’ll get back to you on this one! Thanks, Cindy! Blessings!

Hi Cindy. I looked into it, and you’re correct that AI Jesus isn’t produced by Christians. Many people have pointed out its incoherent responses to questions, and it’s hard to see how any serious student of God’s Holy Word would consider using it. To me, it’s just another example of the growing number of misleading distractions or off ramps from the narrow path. Some people always look for shortcuts to understanding, instead of investing dedicated time, prayer, and study. This seems like yet another novelty that will attract those unwilling to commit to a relationship with Jesus as our Lord. But I do however sincerely thank you for bringing it to my attention! Blessings!

Bruce, We certainly don’t need another off-ramp from the narrow path! Christians do like a shortcut and that is why there are so many mega-rich “preachers”. But that’s a topic for another day. Thank you for sharing your opinion on this. God bless you and Peggy, today! 🙏

Thank you for this warning, Cindy. It’s unfathomable what’s happening and being accepted in the world today, even by those who profess Christ. And no, you’re not being negative. You care about the world and all the schemes of satan that are everywhere today. I sincerely appreciate that! Bless you!

Thanks for the warning. This is the first I’ve heard about this. I’m not surprised though, it’s just more evidence of our idolatry. Rather than taking time to read, pray and meditate, we’re looking to shortcuts for answers. Satan uses scripture to deceive, as he did in the temptation of Jesus. We must always ask the Spirit to guide as we read the Bible and pray for the truth to be revealed.

What! Another fake Jesus! We’ve been having a fake Jesus riding along on the dashboards of our cars for decades. If you remember that song you are as old as I am 🙂 Thanks for bringing this up Carol., but wow! this is a new low. I don’t do AI anything. I’d rather stick with average intelligence from real people. After all, real people are who Jesus died for!

Plastic Jesus, maybe in 1964. I don’t remember who sang it but the famous chorus went –
” I don’t care if it rains or freezes
As long as I have my plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car.”

Years ago a study was done by one of the universities in Florida, with that years version of AI. All the religious books of that time were put into the computer and AI was asked questions regarding morality. The results were that AI differed to the Christian Bible more than any other. Not happy with the result these wonderful people started to mess with the scriptures then. The study cannot be found any where on the internet to this date. I am only sorry that I did not keep a copy of it.
But that told me then that these folks had no intention of AI telling the truth concerning morality.
Thank you Cindy for bringing this topic up may God bless you richly for it.

Wow! That’s really interesting, Eileen! I don’t like AI because you don’t know who’s programming it or what their motivation happens to be. I’m afraid that for the most part people are too trusting about things like this. Thanks for sharing this. Blessings, my friend!

My goodness, the world gets stranger by the day. Thank you, Cindy, for speaking out. As a writer, I’ve asked AI for suggestions with titles or fictional names for places in a piece of writing. I concluded that AI is quite boring, and everything AI suggests are similar in tone. Maybe what people do not the only thing AI can spit out is what some human put in. Your post made me think of the admonition in Revelation 22:18–“I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the hold city…”

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I’ve experimented with AI suggestions in my writing, too. And like you, I thought they were boring.
Revelation 22:18 certainly speaks to our day!
“I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the hold city…”

Excellent post Cindy! People need to abide in Holy Scripture and not forsake the assembling of the brethren.
“So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you abide in My word, then you are truly My disciples;” – (John 8:31 LSB)
The online environment is a dangerous place and becoming more so each day. We need to have those physical Bibles in our hands, treasure the special revelation God has given to us and read them. We must store the Word within us. Holy Scripture and adherence to it by Christians is being attacked on every front. One example, in China, Xi has changed the contents of Bibles:
https://www.frc.org/op-eds/china-to-christians-were-rewriting-the-bible-and-youll-use-it-or-else
AI has numerous uses some which are beneficial and others that are dangerous; especially, when you incorporate machine and deep learning with algorithms. As an example, they can be used for digital assistants:
“A digital assistant, also known as a predictive chatbot, is an advanced computer program that simulates a conversation with the people who use it, typically over the internet.
Digital assistants use advanced artificial intelligence (AI), natural language processing, natural language understanding, and machine learning to learn as they go and provide a personalized, conversational experience. Combining historical information such as purchase preferences, home ownership, location, family size, and so on, algorithms can create data models that identify patterns of behavior and then refine those patterns as data is added. By learning a user’s history, preferences, and other information, digital assistants can answer complex questions, provide recommendations, make predictions, and even initiate conversations.”
They can be used to perform mundane, repetitive ordinary processes and “free” up time for people to perform other more value-added tasks. At one place I worked, there were thousands of virtual assistants. One downside, even though you hear the mantra that it will not eliminate jobs from the workforce, it does.
There is a lot involved in this space. I thought this was an interesting short clip (less than 2 minutes) on X Elon Musk put out.
https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1798504201196368219
How are these constructed? How are they programmed? Who set up the learning? What types of environments were set up for data storage? What programs are utilized for Big Data? Who has the kind of $$$ to set these up? What are their biases? Not only are data sources an issue (e.g. what garbage is being put in) but there is a black box unknown component too. The proliferation of AI chat bots (e.g. the RCC is developing their own) will only heighten the importance of people question the INFORMATION that is presented to people from the MANIPULATION of the DATA by the various technologies.
If a person blindly trusts institutions, technology and people without any critical-thinking, discernment and testing all things against Holy Scripture, that individual is RIPE for deception.
God bless you sister Cindy!

Thank you for this in-depth response. The article on China is chilling. Christians must never take the possession of a Bible for granted. We in America must not take our freedom to read and study God’s Word for granted, but I fear that we do. My prayer is that Christians will grasp the indescribable value of God’s Word and cherish it as they should. Blessings!
