“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25 NIV

There is an art to encouragement. When we are connected to our Lord, in a position to receive His love into our hearts, it then flows over to our own household and beyond. Unfortunately, sometimes circumstances and getting our eyes off Jesus makes us miserable so we make others miserable. The art of encouragement is to overcome this miserable state in order to bless those around us. It is not always easy but possible in Christ.
With my husband’s recent stay in the hospital, putting on a brave face in the mist of all that was going on was not easy, but you see the service the men and women trying to give to others in the faces of those looking to them to not only safe a loved one but bring them back from the brink of death. Please pray for those on the front line in the ER and that God will help them to keep their peace in the midst of things. My hubby is home recovering by the grace of God
We only had one nurse that was rather abrupt, but giving her grace instead of the turmoil inside of me, caused her to change her attitude. It was not easy, I wanted to come unglued on her, but by the grace of God I did not. Encouragement in the midst of trials attract people to Christ and we must never forget that, as I almost did.
Thank you dear heart for the loving reminder.

I understand why you wanted to come “unglued” on her. I’ve been like that, too, when I needed to let off some steam! Yes, it was by God’s grace that you were able to keep your cool. And it paid off! Thank YOU, Eileen, for sharing this experience with me. God’s grace is sufficient! Amen! God bless you and your husband today!
