“For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.” 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NLT

Thanks Cindy, unfortunately just like Peter sometimes we see the waves instead of looking higher to see our Lord. So thanks again for the wonderful reminder. As we are told as the Day of the Lord gets closer the more we need to encourage each other. You are a blessing Beloved of the Lord.

As Mother’s Day approaches, this passage seems so appropriate. Childbirth is, imo, the classic example of intense pain giving way to glorious joy and lasting blessings. I guess I should say, “normal childbirth” – as it was meant to be. I realize in this fallen world, not every family experiences that joy, but every believer who endures suffering for the Lord will be rewarded above and beyond anything we can imagine in this life. God help us to finish well!

Annie, That is a great analogy only a mother can completely understand. And it is so true. I wish the women who seek abortions could understand that their baby is a God-given gift that they will most certainly come to cherish and love with their whole heart.
