“For this is what the Lord Almighty says: “After the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you—for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye— I will surely raise my hand against them so that their slaves will plunder them. Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me.” Zechariah 2:8-9 NIV Read full chapter

I don’t understand what you said. Can you elaborate a little?

Hi Cindy, I just meant that Israel was/is/are God’s chosen nation and people and it behooves us to be mindful of how closely He pays attention to them. Maintaining a healthy respect is not out of line, at least from my perception. Jeremiah 31:35-37: ”This is what the Lord says,
He who gives the sun for light by day
And the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night,
Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar—
The Lord of armies is His name:
“If this fixed order departs
From Me,” declares the Lord,
“Then the descendants of Israel also will cease
To be a nation before Me forever.”
This is what the Lord says:
“If the heavens above can be measured
And the foundations of the earth searched out below,
Then I will also reject all the descendants of Israel
For everything that they have done,” declares the Lord.”
Jeremiah’s prophecy emphasizes the enduring nature of God’s covenant with Israel. It affirms that as long as the natural order established by God remains, Israel will continue to exist as a nation before Him. These verses highlight God’s unwavering commitment to His chosen people and the ultimate fulfillment of His promises to Israel, despite any periods of disobedience or hardship. And while I might not agree with everything that Israel does in their current fallen state, I am mindful that God is not finished with them yet, just as He is not finished with you and me while we draw breath, and to be mindful and respectful of their God given promises. And the last time I checked, the natural order that God established is still with us. Hope this helps!

I thought you were directing that to me. Maybe you were thinking of Israel’s enemies. (I just got up!)
