A Verse for Today, 1/7/20

“When I think of the wisdom and scope of his plan, I fall down on my knees and pray to the Father of all the great family of God—some of them already in heaven and some down here on earth—  that out of his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you the mighty inner strengthening of his Holy Spirit.   And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts, living within you as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love;  and may you be able to feel and understand, as all God’s children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high his love really is; and to experience this love for yourselves, though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it. And so at last you will be filled up with God himself.” Ephesians 3:15-19 TLB

    1. I study from the NIV, too. But, I agree with you. Sometimes a different version says the same thing, but in different words. I always check other translations against the NIV to be sure it lines up. Thanks for commenting. Blessings, Perth!

        1. “Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.” Acts 17:11

          1. Thank you so much Cindy for caring. Perth is safe. Perth is on the west coast of Australia. The fires are raging on the east coast. It is absolutely horrifying and devastating. Pray for rain and the wind to die down and for protection of lives both human and animal.

  1. Thank you Cindy! I just read this in a couple versions since everyone else was (what a follower huh?) any way… I like this version the best. I especially like the part about falling on my knees. I prayed this prayer just now a few times for my Sunday school members individually then sent them a FB message to let them know this is my prayer for them. Thank you for these verses today! Keep up your important ministry
