This Is Why I Blog

Apparently it took getting me flat on my back for 2 weeks before God could get my attention. While I Iay in bed recovering from Mono, a little song kept playing in my head. “Hide it under a bushel? NO! I’m gonna let it shine!”

That’s when it hit me! “I’m a closet Christian!” My light is hidden under a bushel!”  … There was no doubt about it.

I literally couldn’t get the song out of my head. Feeling convicted about my mostly private relationship with the Lord, I got the idea to write a blog.

Before long, I was convinced. The Lord was giving me a compelling desire to write about my journey. Because it is a journey you know. That was in March. Now, nine months later, I am a genuine blogger! (And amazingly, there are even a few people who actually follow my blog!)

Not your regular “raised in church” Christian, my journey has been more of a roller coaster ride than a pleasant Sunday drive; but ever since I asked Jesus to be my Savior I have known that He is in my heart. I have always known I could turn to Him for help (no matter what kind of trouble I had gotten myself into).

So that’s why I blog. Determined to end my silence, I proclaim the name of Jesus. I write to encourage real Christian women who have real-life problems, women who (like me) may be far from perfect. I want to proclaim the Lord’s love, faithfulness, and mercy to all who will listen.

Love, Cindy

This is My Journey Unscripted.

P.S. In case you’re wondering, I gave my heart to Jesus while I was watching a Billy Graham Crusade on TV when I was 6 years old. God is pretty amazing, isn’t he?

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16 KJV

Do you know Jesus?

If you have never asked Jesus to be your Savior, you can do it now. He loves you more than you can comprehend, and it will change your life forever.

“IF YOU CONFESS WITH YOUR MOUTH, ‘JESUS IS LORD,’ AND BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART THAT GOD RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD, YOU WILL BE SAVED. FOR IT IS WITH YOUR HEART THAT YOU BELIEVE AND ARE JUSTIFIED, AND IT IS WITH YOUR MOUTH THAT YOU CONFESS AND ARE SAVED. AS THE SCRIPTURE SAYS, ANYONE WHO TRUSTS IN HIM WILL NEVER BE PUT TO SHAME.”   ROMANS 10:9-11
